Model-based Tuning Methods for Pid Controllers

The manner in which a measured process variable responds over time to changes in the controller output signal is fundamental to the design and tuning of a PID controller. The best way to learn about the dynamic behavior of a process is to perform experiments, commonly referred to as “bump tests.” Critical to success is that the process data generated by the bump test be descriptive of actual process behavior. Discussed are the qualities required for “good” dynamic data and methods for modeling the dynamic data for controller design. Parameters from the dynamic model are not only used in correlations to compute tuning values, but also provide insight into controller design parameters such as loop sample time and whether dead time presents a performance challenge. It is becoming increasingly common for dynamic studies to be performed with the controller in automatic (closed loop). For closed loop studies, the dynamic data is generated by bumping the set point. The method for using closed loop data is illustrated. Concepts in this work are illustrated using a level control simulation.

FORM OF THE CONTROLLER

The methods discussed here apply to the complete family of PID algorithms. Examples presented will explore the most popular controller of the PID family, the Proportional-Integral (PI) controller:

In this controller, u(t) is the controller output and is the controller bias. The tuning parameters are controller gain, , and reset time, . Because is in the denominator, smaller values of reset time provide a larger weight to (increase the influence of) the integral term.

CONTROLLER DESIGN PROCEDURE

Designing any controller from the family of PID algorithms entails the following steps:

specifying the design level of operation,

collecting dynamic process data as near as practical to this design level,

fitting a first order plus dead time (FOPDT) model to the process data, and

using the resulting model parameters in a correlation to obtain initial controller tuning values.

The form of the FOPDT dynamic model is:

where y(t) is the measured process variable and u(t) is the controller output signal. When Eq. 2 is fit to the test data, the all-important parameters that describe the dynamic behavior of the process result:

These three model parameters are important because they are used in correlations to compute initial tuning values for a variety of controllers [1]. The model parameters are also important because:

the sign of indicates the sense of the controller (+ reverse acting; – direct acting)

the size of indicates the maximum desirable loop sample time (be sure sample time )

the ratio indicates whether a Smith predictor would show benefit (useful if )

the dynamic model itself can be employed within the architecture of feed forward, Smith predictor, decoupling and other model-based controller strategies.

DEFINING GOOD PROCESS TEST DATA

As discussed above, the collection and analysis of dynamic process data are critical steps in controller design and tuning. A “good” set of data contains controller output to measured process variable data that is descriptive of the dynamic character of the process. To obtain such a data set, the answer to all of these questions about your data should be “yes” [1]. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to consider these steps to ensure success.

Was the process at steady state before data collection started?

Suppose a controller output change forces a dynamic response in a process, but the data file only shows the tail end of the response without showing the actual controller output change that caused the dynamics in the first place. Popular modeling tools will indeed fit a model to this data, but it will skew the fit in an attempt to account for an unseen “invisible force.” This model will not be descriptive of your actual process and hence of little value for control. To avoid this problem, it is important that data collection begin only after the process has settled out. The modeling tool can then properly account for all process variations when fitting the model.

Did the test dynamics clearly dominate the process noise?

When generating dynamic process data, it is important that the change in controller output cause a

response in the process that clearly dominates the measurement noise. A rule of thumb is to define a

noise band of ±3 standard deviations of the random error around the process variable during steady

operation. Then, when during data collection, the change in controller output should force the process variable to move at least ten times this noise band (the signal to noise ratio should be greater than ten). If you meet or exceed this requirement, the resulting process data set will be rich in the dynamic information needed for controller design.

Were the disturbances quiet during the dynamic test?

It is essential that the test data contain process variable dynamics that have been clearly (and in the ideal world exclusively) forced by changes in the controller output as discussed in step 2. Dynamics caused by unmeasured disturbances can seriously degrade the accuracy of an analysis because the modeling tool will model those behaviors as if they were the result of changes in the controller output signal. In fact, a model fit can look perfect, yet a disturbance that occurred during data collection can cause the model fit to be nonsense. If you suspect that a disturbance event has corrupted test data, it is conservative to rerun the test.

Did the model fit appear to visually approximate the data plot?

It is important that the modeling tool display a plot that shows the model fit on top of the data. If the two lines don’t look similar, then the model fit is suspect. Of course, as discussed in step 3, if the data has been corrupted by unmeasured disturbances, the model fit can look great yet the usefulness of the analysis can be compromised.

NOISE BAND AND SIGNAL TO NOISE RATIO

When generating dynamic process data, it is important that the change in the controller output signal causes a response in the measured process variable that clearly dominates the measurement noise. One way to quantify the amount of noise in the measured process variable is with a noise band. As illustrated in Fig. 1, a noise band is based on the standard deviation of the random error in the measurement signal when the controller output is constant and the process is at steady state. Here the noise band is defined as ±3 standard deviations of the measurement noise around the steady state of the measured process variable (99.7% of the signal trace is contained within the noise band). While other definitions of the noise band have been proposed, this definition is conservative when used for controller design.

When generating dynamic process data, the change in controller output should cause the measured process variable to move at least ten times the size of the noise band. Expressed concisely, the signal to noise ratio should be greater than ten. In Fig. 1, the noise band is 0.25°C. Hence, the controller output should be moved far and fast enough during a test to cause the measured exit temperature to move at least 2.5°C. This is a minimum specification. In practice it is conservative to exceed this value.

CONTROLLER TUNING FROM CORRELATIONS

The recommended tuning correlations for controllers from the PID family are the Internal Model Control (IMC) relations [1]. These are an extension of the popular lambda tuning correlations and include the added sophistication of directly accounting for dead time in the tuning computations.

The first step in using the IMC (lambda) tuning correlations is to compute, , the closed loop time constant. All time constants describe the speed or quickness of a response. The closed loop time constant describes the desired speed or quickness of a controller in responding to a set point change. Hence, a small (a short response time) implies an aggressive or quickly responding controller. The closed loop time constants are computed as:

Final tuning is verified on-line and may require tweaking. If the process is responding sluggishly to disturbances and changes in the set point, the controller gain is too small and/or the reset time is too large. Conversely, if the process is responding quickly and is oscillating to a degree that makes you uncomfortable, the controller gain is too large and/or the reset time is too small.

CONCLUSIONS

Understanding the dynamic behavior of a process is essential to the proper design and tuning of a PID controller. The recommended design and tuning methodology is to: step, pulse or otherwise perturb the controller output near the design level of operation, record the controller output and measured process variable data as the process responds, and fit a first order plus dead time (FOPDT) dynamic model to this process data, use the dynamic model parameters in a correlation to compute P-Only, PI, PID and PID with Filter test your controller to ensure satisfactory performance.

Air Venture 2010- A Year of Celebration.

The Douglas DC-3 and the Boeing B-17 celebrated and marked, both 75 years young, at Air Venture, in Oshkosh, Wisconsis this year. It also marked the celebration and honoring of all veterans and those who serve now, with war bird fly-bys held every day.

The aircraft got into the field before any of those celebrations could get underway.

Oshkosh was under a storm that at one point delivered seven inches of rain in a 12-hour period for almost 72 hours preceding the show. Someone called it “Sploshkosh”.Even Milwaukee International Airport,150 miles south of Oshkosh, was closed because of runway flooding, and that was a “first”!

At Wittman Field, Oshkosh, venue for AirVenture, most of the 10000 incoming aircraft were diverted to nearby airports when the taxiways became clogged with aircraft. Once the rain stopped, officials had to wait until the ground dried out before they could recover (and park) any aircraft.

As EAA made arrangements to move campers and motor homes to nearby malls as the rain and mud caused four empty camp-grounds. By noon of opening day,(July 26) ,warm temperatures and low humidity had things almost back to “normal”, but residual issues lingered until late in the week. More than 10000 aircraft found spots to park on the grounds. A total of 2380 show planes, included 1106 homebuilt aircraft, 635 vintage airplanes, 374 warbirds, 115 ultralights, 120 seaplanes and 30 rotorcraft were there.

DAKOTAS RULE

A cavalcade of 21 DC-3/Dakotas roared over Air Venture Monday afternoon as part of a mass arrival.By mid-week, the event would become the largest gathering of DC-3s since World War 11 with 36 aircraft scattered around the airport.

Since the plans were to park the DC-3s Dakotas together but the soggy ground washed out the plans. There is no doubt this was the last time that this many Dakotas will meet.

The original goal was 25 aircraft making an hour-long flight from the staging area at Rock Falls 111,to Wittman Regional Airport for a formation fly-by at 10000 feet to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the first flight of the iconic aircraft. Organizers were deluged with requests to take part in the flight. The current record is 28 set in South Africa in 1985.

There are only two airworthy examples of the DC-2 remaining. One is in The Netherlands, and the other, in the TWA livery of The Lindbergh Line, arrived at AirVenture.It was given a coveted place at  Aero shell square, and the centre of attention.

There was at least one forum on the Dakota each day with veteran C-47 pilots, Spooky and EC-47 drivers, private owners, and airline pilots all sharing funny, and often times hair-raising, stories of how the beloved Gooney Bird saved their bacon.

On Tuesday evening saw an exclusive DC-3 community (about 600) cookout hosted by Basler Turbo Conversions of Oshkosh.Basler refurbishes DC-3s from its base at Witt man Regional Airport which is technically where Air Venture takes place.

On the Thursday evening, there was a special DC-3/C-47 reunion at the Theatre in the Woods. Special guest, Jim Douglas, the last surviving son of DC-3 designer Donald W Douglas, shared a perspective on growing up with his famous father. Almost 4000 people attended the event which featured a three-part program me: the early history through the Super DC-3: World War 11  and Vietnam and  what the old girl is doing today, which included the missions of the turbine-powered Basler BT-67 and the appearance of the stars of hit Canadian reality TV series “Ice Pilots”.

The Ice pilots, of Buffalo Airways, still operate the last scheduled daily Dakota passenger service in the world. They fly in the frozen country of the Yukon Territory, in Northwest Canada.

SHARING THE LIMELIGHT

The DC-3 shared the limelight with the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress as Wednesday, July 28, marked the 75th anniversary of the first flight of the B-17. Between Boeing, Lockheed, and Douglas, more than 12000 were built, and 75 years later, four of the believed nine airworthy Flying Fortresses in North America, flew Air Venture.

According to Boeing historians, the B-17 went from its design as the model 299 prototype of flight testing in less than 12 months. By the time the war was over, the design was up to the “G” model, which carried twelve .50 calibre machine guns. In all, there were 8680 B-17G models built by Boeing, Vega, and Douglas to make this the largest production variation. The four Fortresses included the EAAs Aluminum Overcast, the Thunderbird, from the Lonestar Flight Museum, in Galveston, Texas, Texas Raiders belonging to the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), and Yankee Lady.

EAAs own B-17G Aluminum Overcast operated out of Appleton (about 60 miles away) this week to provide rides. Seen and heard overhead throughout the week, the EAAs flagship Fortress survived a major rebuilding .Earlier this year, its lower ball turret, was refurbished to operating condition. It did land on the field later in the week to help celebrates its 75th birthday.

Thunderbird, which, like the Texas Raiders, hails from the Gulf Coast, has financial challenges during these economic times.”We used to do 20 shows year”, said pilot Doug peoples.”Now, five or six raod trips, and some local hops make up a season for the B-17, beleaguered withy a scarcity of sponsors to foot the bill.

Texas Raiders has spent the past 47 years in the care of the CAF, but was out of action for seven years after inspections revealed extensive corrosion resulting from exposure to the saltwater of the Gulf Coast. The rehabilitation cost almost $600000.

Yankee Lady B-17G, N3193G, was delivered to the US Army Air Corps as 44-85829, then transferred to the US Coast Guard as PB-1G, BuNO 77255 in September 1946.Since then, it has worked in various configurations. NEW COMPANY

News from around the circuit at Oshkosh included the fact that Alan Klapmeier,co-founder and former CEO of cirrus, is back creating a new airplane.

Klapmeier and a group of investors are merging with Farnborough Aircraft to create the 37-foot kenstral JP 10, a carbon fibre, 6-8 passenger turboprop, at a former naval base in Brunswick, Maine.

So far, Klapmeier says he has no specs for weight, performance, development schedule, or price tag. Of course he does, but he will not be revealing them so early in the game. What he does have is a great deal of confidence in the data collected by Farnborough Aircraft during testing of what may be the prototype of the final aircraft.

The leading edge of the wing will be straighter, the tip slightly curved back and the engine power ratcheted down slightly, and at the request of the FAA this is according to kenstral spokesman in regard to plans to modify its Proof of Concept aircraft. Alan Klapmeier said “we’re looking forward to changing the future of general aviation”, and there will be more models beyond the Kestrel.

The company will hire about 300 people initially and it has put a budget of $ 100-million into the development of the aircraft.

INTRODUCING THE TRANSITION

Terrafugia,Inc., developer of the Transition Roadable Aircraft, or “Flying Car”, released specifications and computer graphics of the new Transition. The company unveiled a scale model of the next generation design, currently under construction at its factory in Woburn, Massachusetts.

The company has been collecting data acquired during driving tests and flight testing of the Proof of Concept Transition, successfully completed in 2009.The improvements to the design will be based on these data, with extensive computer-aided optimization.

The recent allowance of 50 kg by the FAA, for the Transition, keeps it within the Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) category. The design also allows the flexibility to incorporate modern automotive-style safety features currently unavailable in other light aircraft.

Terrafugias Transition is the only LSA to simulate crash testing using advanced computational fluid dynamics, airbag deployment, and digital crash test dummies.Terrafugia expects that when combined with a full-vehicle ballistic parachute system, and the ability to drive in bad weather, the Transition will be one of the safest LSAs in the world. Deliveries of the Transition are scheduled to begin in late 2011.

LEAD-FREE AVGAS

In 2006, Friends of the Earth, an environmental group, petitioned the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to minimize, or eliminate lead in Avgas through legislation.

Earlier this year the EPA recommended the public find ways to eliminate the offending tetraethyl lead (TEL) found in the fuel. What is unclear was what they meant by “the public,” pilots, on-pilots or environmentalists?

That action prompted concerned GA pilots and industry representatives to form an alliance of general aviation and petroleum industry organizations to develop a process by which an unleaded avgas solution could be identified.

The alliance reported at Air Venture that if necessary it would identify and transition to an unleaded fuel in a methodical process. It announced a two-pronged strategy: the short term strategy is to reduce emissions by developing a “drop-in” alternative to 100LL to be called 100ULL, (ultra low-lead), one which may satisfy the needs of piston-engine aircraft without pricey modifications. The long term approach is a detailed five-step program me which we will report on in a future issue.

Meanwhile, the EPA is examining whether 100LL poses a health risk and, if it does, whether that risk is great enough to mandate eliminating low-leaded gasoline.

Regardless of the sabre rattling, most concerned parties do not think 100LL will disappear any time soon, and the EPA confirmed that it had not set a deadline for the removal of lead from Avgas.

COBALTS CO50

Cobalt Aircraft industries, a French start-up, unveiled its new five-place all-composite, pusher design at Air Venture .The CO50 has sleek fighter-plane looks and features, such as under fuselage engine intake(ala P-51) ,canard, and split-vertical stabilizers which liken it to an FA-18 or su-27.

It features a wide, electrically-actuated panoramic canopy and a canard for stall resistance and high-speed performance. The rear-mounted engine will house a TCM 350 hp twin turbocharged, continental TSIOF-550-D2B in a pusher configuration, with FADEC and its attendant single-lever power control.

The company claims it will push the CO50 to 245 knots at a 75% cruise power setting at 8000 feet, and cruise at 220 knots. Cobalt also claims the aircraft will have a 600-nm range with a full load of passengers.

Cobalt says the CO50 is for the business pilot, and aims to offer certified aircraft that can compete with the airlines on short and medium business trips. The prototype is nearing completion and cobalt will soon begin its joint EASA/FAA certification program me which is expected to last two years.

ENSTROM FOR VIRGINIA

Durban-Based JNC helicopter had two very good reasons to celebrate recently when it held a gala dinner at its Virginia Airport headquarters for about a hundred specially-invited guests to mark the tenth anniversary of its formation and the delivery of the first Enstrom F28C-2 in its fleet.

The helicopter is also the first of its type to be based at a flying school in KwaZulu-Natal, and it has been leased from Aerosales Africa, part of Safomar Holdings, which holds the distributorship for both Enstrom and MD helicopters. The JNC Helicopters team is lead by Carol Scobey with chief flying instructor Grant Surtees.

The Enstrom has been placed with JNC Helicopter which can cater for different market categories. It is powered by a turbocharged 205 hp Lycoming HIO-360-E1AD engine.

Aero sales Africa’s strategy is to place as many Enstrom helicopters with flying schools as possible, the idea being that if a pilot flies the Enstrom he or she will buy an Enstrom.The company adopted this strategy to aggressively market the Enstrom and MD range of helicopter in the African market.

We are often asked what can I expect from an RC Tank and which are the best RC Tanks to purchase ?

In essence an electric radio control tank can be a dynamic toy or detailed remote control scale model.  RC tanks themselves also come in different sizes and scales with the majority of remote controlled models functioning both inside out.  Depending on price and brand you can expect radio controlled equipment to be pre-installed or purchased separately.

What are the basic functions of RC tanks?

Simply a radio control tank typically emulates the functions of a full scale model.  There are a number or remote control toys which do not do this but if you buy a scale radio controlled model these differ to the remote controlled toy tank variety.  For example it would be realistic when purchasing scale Radio Controlled tanks for their main gun or cannon to function and for the remote control to have a fire button.

Are RC tanks versatile?

An electric remote control tank is a versatile and fun toy since it is easy to drive, doesn’t require much space, and can generally be used either indoors or out. Many toy tanks are based on real military tanks from the armies of the United States, Germany, Russia, and Japan. Like other radio control toys, these have become increasingly sophisticated in recent years. Special effects including gun recoil, sound, and smoke can make a remote control tank much more fun and realistic.

Global Aviation Tours Africa with FIFAs soccer world cup.OR Tambo Airport -based fleet operator,Global Aviation, waved farewell to its newly refurbished Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup Trophy Africa Tour Mcdonell Douglas DC9 32 ON sUNDAY Septembete r 19. The aircraft departed for Zurich to collect the famous FIFA World Cup Trophy to begin an African continent wide,76 day trophy tour.

Mr Daniel Rosenzweig, Global Aviations Commercial Director,issued a statement saying that Global Aviation is delighted to  participate in a small way in this exciting event.

Sponsored by Coca -Cola and FIFA ,Global Aviations DC9  jet will be calling at  most African nations to meet representatives of Coca-Colas extensive African distribution network as well as government and national soccer team members.First stop after collecting the trophy in Zurich will be Cairo in Egypt,where the DC9 will stop for two days. Atotal of 52 countries will be visited and the aircraft will fly a distance of over 31000 miles . Total flight time is expected to be 76 hours. Coca-Cola has purchased carbon dioxide permits to ensure that the tour is carbon neutral.

The aircraft has been specially configured to carry 24 passengers in  a First class layout.The cabin  has been divided into three sections with  the forward  compartment laid out as a VIP area for TV interviews and to host both FIFA and Coca-Cola  delegates andd guests. A central section has been configured for passengers and a rear compartment will be used as a team changing room.

QANTAS GETS THE 75TH BOEING 737

On September 22, Boeing and Qantas celebrated as the Australian airlines 75th 737, adorned with a special decal to commemorate the milestone,arrived in Auckland,New Zealand.Qantas named the Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 in honour of Jean Batten,a spirited New Zealand aviator who broke numerous flying records in the 1930s .Qantas has been flying Boeings 737s since 1986. This latest Next-Generation 737-800 features Qantas-specified ,2.5 meter-high blended winglets ,which reduce fuel burn,thereby which increasing range and payload.Qantas Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce said Qantas was pleased to be able to offer customers a new trans-Tasman product.The new Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 will offer international bussiness and leisure customers a state-of -the -art product.With the spacious Marc Newson inspired cabin design and the array of  on board technology features.Qantas are delighted to be adding six of these aircraft,the first three before end of this year.

BOEING 787 DREAMLINER  FAST FACTS.

The Boeing board of directors approved offering the 7E7 Dreamliner airplane for sale in sale in late 2003.On April26,2004 Japan-based All Nippon Airways (ANA) launched the 7E7 Dreamliner programme with an order for 50 airplanes-the largest launch order in Boeing Commercial aviation history.

On January 28,2005,Boeing announced that it  gave the 7E7 Dreamliner an official model designation number of 787 .The airplane became known as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The model  designation  followed the company -announced orders from the peoples Republic  of China for 60 Dreamliners.Boeing incoporated the eight at the time of the China order because in many Asian cultures ,the number eight represents good luck and prosperity.

To build the super-effiecent airplane,Boeing has partnered with more than 40 of the worlds top-tier suppliers. An international team is developing the airplane,led by Boeing at its Everett,Wash,facility.

With the introduction of the Dreamliner which is more spacious and with the carrying capacity of over 500,travel around the world will make flights cheap and affortable as the cost per ticket will reduce with almost half and the fuel consumption of the Dreamliner will reduce by 20%.

Gulfstream Aerospace rolls out new flagship aircraft ,the all-new Gulfstream G650.

This jet is the largest ,fastest and most technologically advanced aircraft in the Gulfstream fleet.

On September 29,20009, Gulfstream  Aerospace , a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) rolled out its new flagship business jet,the all-new Gulfstream G650, at company headquarters in Savannah.The aircraft rolled out under its own power.First announced in March 2008,the ultra-large-cabin,ultra-long-range G650  remains on schedule for customer deliveries in 2012. This aircraft is ideal for long haul flights like, private executive jet flights,air ambulance & medical evacuation flights and emergency evacuation flights. Flying in these aircraft will give you a privacy and personalized service.Approximately 7000 people gathered at the new G650 manufacturing building for the aircrafts debut.

The G650 offers the longest,fastest spedd,largest cabin and the most advanced cockpit in the Gulfstream fleet.It features all- new fuselage cross sction, allowing a wider and taller cabin than the previous top-of -the -line G550 model.The G650 is capable of travelling 7000 nautical miles at 0.85 mach and has a maximum operating speed of 0.925,which will make it the fastest civil aircraft flying .It can climb to an altitude of 51000 feet, which allows it to avoidd traffic and inclement weather.

The G650 features a cabin that measures 102 inches wide and 77 inches high, the largest purpose-built cabin in bussiness aviation.The extra space allows  for larger galleys and lavatories, and increased storage.The aircraft , which seats 11-18 passengers ,also features 16 panoramic windows that measure 28 by 20.5 inches, the largest in the industry,improved sound levels, a vacuum toilet system,and in -flight access to 195 cubic feet of usable volume in the baggage compartment. The aircraft is on schedule for its first flight later this year and is expected to be certified i 2011 .Entry -into-service is planned for 2012.

JET FUEL BY TYE.

The various formulations of jet fuel over the last 70 years include: Military designated JP-1 ,JP-2,JP-3,JP-4,JP-5,JP-6,JP-7 AND JP-8 and Commercially designated Jet-A ,Jet-A1 andd Jet -B . All are kerosene blends. The designation letters ‘jp’ stand for Jet  Propellant.

- JP-1 .The standardized formulation for JP-1 was created in 1994 for the first jet aircraft.It was designed to operate at an extremely low freezing point of -76degrees f. There is only very limited availability of this fuel owing to cost to formulate it.

-JP-2 ,-3,-4 : All are blended kerosenes that use naphtha derivatives at their cutting agents giving varying flash and freezing points.These are obsolete fuels.

-JP-5 and -6 : Both are kerosene fuels that have been blended with AVGAS. A derivative is still used primarily by the United States Navy,while a JP-6 derivative is still used by extremely high-altitude military jets.

-JP-7: Was specifically developed for Lockheed SR-71

-JP-8 (in the US) and F-34(in Europe);Now the universally required jet fuel used by the worlds military forces.It is a blended kerosene that has an antioxidant,metals deactivator and static electricity dissipater additives blended into it.

Visitors to next years Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow will be able to take home a helicopter, light plane or even a boat along with the usual souvenirs, thanks to anew initiative by the shows organisers.

With the global recession putting pressure on aircraft owners,many more were being put up for sale here and overseas, according to airshow Manager ,Mandy Deans. A special aviation sales lot will be set up at the 2010 international airshow andd Ms Deans said there were already helicopters and light planes being put forward for inclussion before the plan had even be advertised. If you will be in attendance at this airshow you will an opportunity for helicopter flight, scenic flight and aerial survey & photography flights.

It is the second new  initiative  from  the Warbirds  Over Wanaka Community Trust for the Easter Holiday event, which has in the past attracted around 100000 visitors.  Afood andd wine expo, showcasing local produce , will also be held as part of the airshow and Ms Deans said this idea was also  attracting considerable interest.

The show begins on April,2 ,2010 with aircraft practice day. The main airshow will be held on April,3 and 4 . Tickets sales continued  to be strong.
