Symantec Corporation’s latest release for internet security is the Norton Internet Security 2010 (NIS). This software solution is much more effective than its previous version. Like all other security solutions from the Symantec Corporation, the Norton Internet Security 2010 has distinct features and technologies that invariably make it highly efficient for those who use the internet constantly.
1. Installation and Setup
The installation procedure is similar to its previous version. You can either buy the hard copy i.e. box copy software or the electronic download. Both the versions are easy to install. All you need to do is to double click on the setup wizard and follow the instructions. today i’ve download symantec endpoint protection 11.4202. the total size of this file is near about 1 GB. but problem is there is no setup files or setup.exe where i can able to install it. all are in two files CD1 and CD2

First off sysmantec endpoint protection is a business product and they don’t give you any instructions?. Ok the sfv files are similar to md5 files they verify that what you have downloaded has not been corrupted or incomplete I have put a link to wiki article with more info. Now the other files are a split rar file in other words the original files have been compressed then split in to smaller chunks to facilitate a faster download. To decompress the file grab a copy of 7zip which is free install it then select the .rar file and decompress.

Torrent files blocked?
So torrent files are apparently blocked on my computer at the moment, i run Symantec Endpoint Protection , default settings i think, i got it from mizzou when i got here cause they require it, im not sure what is blocking it, im using bitcomet and it is saying that the listen port is blocked, im not sure what is wrong, hence me asking the question, help would be much appreciated…… The bitcomet doesnt connect to any peers from what i can tell, says 0/0 seeders/leechers, so i dont think it even searches for peers…..also im sure internet is workin, cause i can direct download stuff…..
Some schools block sites like that to discourage illegal file sharing.
As long as you are on their network, you won’t be able to access sites like that. It’s a little stupid, but they do it anyway.

symantec endpoint protection trouble- please help!?
i have a dell laptop running windows xp with symantec endpoint protection. today i noticed that s.e.m. says, “antivirus and antispyware protection definitions are out of date.” but when i click “fix”, a pop-up window appears that says, “s.e.m. has requested new definitions from the management server. this problem will disappear after the server responds and the update is complete.” but nothing ever happens. does anyone know what i should do?

other viruses or even just too many temp files can cause this, try downloading ccleaner and give ur pc a tune up with it then download malwarebytes and scan with that
make sure you are connected to the internet while its updateing and your firewall isnt blocking it aswell :O)
