Wouldn’t a boom-mounted camera (off of the tail boom) to give a third-person perspective suffice for piloting?
Awesome heli!
Sorry but systems like microdrone are over priced and have very low pay load capcity. Paying 25K Euros for something I want it to carry a real camera.
For the same money I can buy a turbine helicopter fully loaded that can handle weight and some wind. Companies like thhis one and Draganfly have to get a little more realistic in there pricing.
But I guess they are trying to get rich off of big companies that don’t know any better. Law enforcement etc.
with two way radio you can tell them you dont give a fuck and all your troops are in afghan
@thecracken9
the pilot in the video was probably not very experienced, or the setup was poor. but helicopters like this when properly setup are more the stable enough. i know some local AP guys which use similar helicopters and get great results.
RC helis are not stable enough for this type work. Even hard to stabalize with auto pilot. Search microdrone 4 rotor uav. Much more stable.
you could spy on your ex fucking your ex best friend and drop bombs groovy
thats pretty cool
good idea…..
nice cam on the heli
Cool. I love rc helicopters. 5 rating.
It’s a lot cheaper than a manned helicopter.
built by a german company called “……..”?
I was in Louisiana post Katrina to help with disaster relief. I am an R.C. enthusiast, and recently got into RC helicopters. After seeing seemingly thousands of REAL helicopters flying all over the gulf coast immediately after Katrina, I imagined smaller RC/robotic helis flying around doing initial surveys. I guess I wasn’t too far off the mark.
the heli or the camera needs to by gyro/gps stabilized this still looks primitive but it know it will improve as technology already exists
there is one called the Co-Pilot. when you let go of the controlls, it takes over and automatically keeps the helicopter level. I believe it senses the temperature difference between the ground and the sky for its orientation.
There are prototype RC helicopters already flying with a remote controlled automatic shot gun. im sure there is a youtube video of it somewhere.
yeah the same idea was implemented in the game deadrising….
Could you imagine a swarm of these badboys flying around warzones with guns and viewing equipment mounted to ‘em? Everytime your unit was shot down you could just hit START OVER…
Wow, that’s a pretty innovative idea. That is a really nice camera set up! 2 people should be able to run it. There are a few devices to provide a hands free hover situation (some kind of commander, flight commander or similar, I don’t have one so sorry for the vague suggestion). That is a pretty large, powerful, and stable heli. I bet that did some good searching in all that debris.
you can easily suspend the load from a 50 foot line, well out of harms way.
pretty good rc pilot
they look like wooden blades
if they are change them to carbon firbe espescially if its got a mounted camera smoother flight
