Uh oh! How far this is up? I’m grabbing a hold of that helicopter, and I hopes it will hold me up there while it flies! :-P

Some times, but I watch the clouds to see if they’re moving fast. If they are I don’t go high. The wind can be VERY troublesome if you’re not prepared. It can blow you 500′ away in any direction in under a minute.

  13. neo123rej says:

very nice done! One question; didn’t you have troubles with the wind at those altitudes?

    anyway, 5* from me ^^

  14. elitehero36 says:

wow that was high. that is a good vid good job.

  15. wotdafek says:

Kinda figured that out after hearing again, Moody Blues used to do similar style. Love the farm.

  16. geekdisk says:

Noooooo, it’s Pink Floyd “Learning to Fly”.

  17. wotdafek says:

Incidently, love the music, is that Moody Blues?

  18. Bumblefrenzy says:

    How high is it

  19. geekdisk says:

It’s all about being super anal to building the heli. Get EVERYTHING symmetrical and balanced. I use a small scale that’s accurate to .005g and balance anything that spins. I also spin up the heli in my hand as I’m building it. First spin up is without any rotorhead, main shaft or drive gear. Just to test the motor for vibrations, then I add the above parts and spin to check the drive system without any blades. Then I add the tail and spin to check the tail rotor for vibration, on and on.

    That was stunning !

Techie question, how did you get the video so smooth? Vibration seems to be the biggest hurdle with helicopters. Your vid was like riding a smooth tilting flywheel. Nicely done.

Very cool. I thinking to do the same. One project i have in my mind on is to create an wireless connection that could stream the webcam-data directly to an laptop with wireless connections. So you can follow from an computer and see whats happening, and plan your beatiful clips.

  22. Mediamarktfreak says:

how many meters high is that?

  23. burnrider2001 says:
