What RC Helicopter should I get for my dad for 100 dollars or a little above?

Just wonder. I think that this would make a great Christmas present for him. I would prefer something with more flight time also, or a couple of great helicopters. Oh and the bigger the better, I don’t want anything tiny! Thanks!

Well… with $100, you could get a big helicopter, but it wouldn’t be as worth it because it would be cheap and it’ll break easily. A E-Flite Blade MCX is small, but lots of fun. It is a big sell out for people because it is a fun small little helicopter. Check it out.
The average flight time is 10 minutes on all electric models. Do not plan to get anything too advanced for your father as well. Remember that if it is too hard for him to fly, he will most likely not play with it. This helicopter would be a good starting helicopter for him
Electrics don’t have great flight times, though you can always bring along extra sets of pre-charged batteries.(Nitro engine hilos are more in the $200-$2000 range). I see this one online dealer has 22 models in the $100 range most are 4 channels, giving reasonable control.
There are two 6 channels in this price range with variable pitch allowing upside down flight and dramatic crashes. Flight simulator software and transmitters with intermediate/advanced operating modes can help one learn to fly these most advanced hilos.
