Symantec Endpoint Protection vs Norton Antivirus?
my school website has a free download for both these programs, but the problem is, the norton antivirus is for MAC users only and i have windows 
. are they both the same or similar? what if i downloaded the norton antivirus for mac, is it usable on my windows?
Symantec Endpoint is more a business oriented product that allows for central managing (e.g., an IT administrator who works for your school can use his computer to view the status of all Symantec products installed on all computers on his network and see if they are uptodate, disabled, what viruses are found, etc). If you have windows, then any solution that is “Mac only” is not an option for you. The best (and easiest) thing to do to eliminate confusion is just to download ONE of several GOOD, FREE antivirus programs for windows and run these. They all work on XP, Vista and Windows 7. If you are running Windows ME or earlier, its time for an upgrade. The AVG FREE tends to be the most popular, but all of these are reasonable choices. Only run ONE antivirus at a time, however, multiple real time security products can slow down your system at best, and cause instability/crashes at worst.
