Windows 7 Antivirus and Firewall Recommendations?
Ok, I’ve done a search on here and it seems people’s recommendations are all over the place. I’m about to install Win 7 Professional (Currently Running Vista Ultimate). I’ve been using Symantec Endpoint Protection 11, and it has too many issues and annoyances. If you had to use either of these 3 programs, accounting for system resources used, effectiveness at preventing infection, speed, and ease of use, what would you recommend? BitDefender 2010, Norton 2010 (which I hear is greatly improved), ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4. Also, would you recommend getting just the antivirus and using the Windows 7 firewall (I also am hooked up to a router with running firewall) or use the “Internet Security” versions that come with a software firewall?
Well of the three that you mentioned, I would have to say that ESET is the best and any person that has good experience with anti-virus would agree with me. There is also MalwareBytes which is also a great anti-virus. Well windows come with it’s own firewall, I don’t have as much experience with firewalls, I’ve never really needed one. Also if your going to upgrade to windows 7, I strongly recommend it, it’s great. Oh and the ESET has online version anti-virus that you can run.
