Keeping Drinks Cold
Keeping a beer cold once it is outside the cool climate of a fridge or beer tap is an age-old problem! There is nothing quite like an ice-cold beer (or crisp white wine) on a hot Summer’s day, but up until now your ice-cold beer would become luke-warm within minutes! We are told by brewers there is an ‘optimum recommended drinking temperature’, however almost as soon as a drink is out of the fridge it is past this recommended drinking temperature.
Introducing the Tjiller
Imagine never drinking a warm beer again! The Tjiller is a new ground-breaking invention which actually causes drinks to get colder once they’re outside the fridge. Coming in several different shapes and sizes, the Tjiller is basically a mix between a wine chiller and a beer cozy or stubby holder. The difference is that it makes your drinks colder (rather than keeping it at the same temperature) and for much longer. For example the Beer Tjiller can keep keep cans, bottles and glasses cold for up to 5 hours! The Extreme Wine Tjiller for 9 hours! There’s also the Party Tjiller which can fit 4 drinks at the same time.
The Tjiller is perfect for individuals and families whether at the beach, entertaining at a BBQ or on a boat and equally good for the hospitality industry – keep guests’ wine cold inside, and out on the terrace, for hours.
How the Tjiller works
The Tjiller is made from a very hard polystyrene outer shell which acts to insulate an inner-layer of special gel which can be cooled to very low temperatures (in any typical household freezer). On the inside of the Tjiller (the part that touches the can, bottle or glass) there is an aluminium membrane which releases the cold from the gel very slowly, hence why it is able to keep drinks cold for so long. As mentioned the Tjiller is best stored in the freezer and should reach it’s coldest temperature in about 8 hours (so leave it overnight for best results).
