Choosing A Beginner Rc Plane

Flying rc planes is not only a lot of fun to do but you can learn a lot of other skills too!

For beginners flying an rc plane can be quite tough and guidance by an experienced “pilot” is always recommended. Some planes are more suitable beginner rc planes than others. Let me explain what I mean. If you decide to purchase a beginner rc plane, pay attention that you notice the following:

Construction: make sure that this plane will be build rather strong so it can sustain a mild impact with the ground.

Design: Pay attention that you buy a plane with the wing section mounted on top of the fuselage rather than a plane with a mid-wing or a low wing. The most suitable beginner rc planes have been designed with the skills of a beginner in mind, so perhaps beginner rc planes don’t look like scale models but they have quite forgiving flying characteristics. This means that when you keep the controls on your transmitter in a center position a good beginner rc plane will stabilize itself and will never spin out of control! Check out a real beginner plane we sell in our shop right here!

Power: never learn to fly with an underpowered rc plane! In case of an emergency a powerful engine can save your day!

You can purchase beginner rc planes that pretty much look like a real airplane and in that case they might have been designed a bit like a Cessna 182 or 172. This plane has been equipped with its wing on top of the fuselage and has been the training platform for many pilots. So if you prefer a scale like beginner rc plane, than go and look for something like our rc Cessna 182 L (large) This plane is big enough to be flown even with moderate wind speeds. Don’t be tempted to buy a warbird as your first plane, even though they are a real eye catcher they have not been designed with the real rc rookie in mind!

The rc Spitfire MK1 has been scale built and flies great, but for an absolute beginner this plane is way too fast. We want to prevent you from being frustrated and give up on this beautiful hobby if you walk home from the park with a garbage bag filled with debris! So once you master your beginner rc plane than it’s time to see if you can also have fun with some warbirds!
