Programming languages to make Dynamic Websites?
What languages do I need to know to make dynamic websites?
Is it not possible to simply learn PHP and do all the coding in PHP?
I am currently doing W3school.com (going over html as we speak) BUT..
Is there any good books to buy to teach me what I need to know.. W3 leaves me wondering how I am supposed to connect all the languages into one project, and the way they have there tutorials makes it seem like I will only be touching on the very basics of all the languages. Is that true?

PHP is a great language to start; it is free and there are plenty of resources for it. Not only will you need to know a dynamic server-side language, you will also need to learn a database management system. W3C is a good place to learn absolutely no monetary cost
If you want to read from a book, I would recommend the Dummies series. Don’t let the name offend you. They have great instructive content and explain the concepts in layman’s terms.
If you are a visual learner, Lynda.com has multitudes of videos that teach PHP..
PHP and AJAX are two completely different things:
You will need PHP for server-side applications where your data needs to be stored and retrieved (i.e. building Shopping Carts, Forums, Inventory Listings, etc.)
AJAX/Javascript will give you client-side interactivity (sorting) that hides the page refresh often encountered on a non-AJAX dynamic page. These are great, but they require more advanced knowledge of how web browsers function.
In short, you should learn PHP/MySQL(database) to get started in dynamic page contents, then worry about AJAX/Javascript/CSS later.
