Alexiolim asked:

Some of my questions are…

1. What are some of the RC helicopters that can last long before need to recharge again. (Please include approx how long it’ll last).

2. What are some of the RC helicopters that fly quietly.

    To answer your questions

    1. RC helicopters can be flown for the duration of the battery pack. Knowing this, most all RC helicopters can accomidate different sizes of batteries. For instance with my T-REX I can fly approximately 6-8 minutes of sport flying with a 11.1v 1700mah lipo battery and 10-15 minutes with a 11.1v 2200mah lipo battery. Knowing your setup is a very important role in how long it will fly. The weight, pitch, electronics, and style of flying all play a factor in how long it will fly. Nitro helicopters are considered infinate in flight time because you can simply fill the nitro bottle up again and again until the engine overheats.

    2. This is a hard question to answer and no one helicopter is considered relativly quiet. 4 channel helisopter that have a fixed pitch are more commonly found to produce less noise such as the E-Sky lama v4. Whereas with helicopters such as the T-REX or Belt cp can be exsessively loud because of they’re high headspeeds and intense thrust. Again this answer can be different based on your heli setup, how you fly, and what electronics you have chosen. The most obvious of noise makers is Gas helicopters and 500 sized electrics, anything smaller is reletively quiet.

    3. My favorite RC helicopter is….. well gosh it’s hard to come up with a favorite. T-REX, Pixy Zap, HDX 500, Raptor 30… the list goes on. My newest favorite now is the CopterX simply because of it’s price tag. You get all aluminum helicopter completely tricked out and flies as well as T-REX…or better, and has insane flight characteristics for it’s size for only 169.99!! In the end there’s so many favorites because there’s one for every size and class of heli.

    cheers

If you don’t know this you should get the Blade CX2 you can fly it in your house and it’s a blast you can get about 10 min per charge. After this you can move up to a cp helicopter.
I have the cp pro and I learned to hover it in my house although it’s made for outdoors or a larger indoor area like a gym.

    1) On average, most nitro helicopters last for 13 minutes sport flying, 15 minutes hovering, 10 minutes or less for aggressive 3d. Electric helis (such as t-rex 600 electric) last around 6 minutes but it all depends on the capacity of the batttery. By the way, it all depends on your setup, good setup = more run time and better performance.

    2) Some fly quietly because of their setup, their power, and their size. They’re setup is important because if u have a bad setup then your helicopter will make weird noises (probably your engine). Also, their power makes a big difference. Obviously nitro helicopters will be louder then electric helicopters. Lastly, lets compare 2 different helicopters. Blade CX and Trex 600E. Blade CX is around 5-6 inches and the T-rex 600E is around 4+ft. Since the helicopter is displacing more air and has bigger blades, it will create more noise.

    3) This is an easy answer for me. I prefer the T-rex 450SE over my raptor 50v2 anytime because parts are cheap and plentiful, their quality is amazing, it comes with lots of aluminum and carbon parts, and its my beater helicopter because the parts are so cheap, i can go 3D without being afraid of spending over $100 for repairs.
