    Excellent Helo

The Blade mCX is stable and easy to fly, even a beginner who’s never touched an RC helicopter before can be up and flying in minutes. Not only that, but since it’s so small you really can fly this helicopter around in a small room and you are in total control. Even though it weighs nearly nothing, it is a tough little machine that will stand up well to the inevitable beginner crashes. Even if something does break, repairs are easy, you’ll find plenty of videos out there showing step-by-step how to fix anything that might break. This is the best entry level helicopter out there and is a “real” RC helo – not a toy.

Got it elsewhere with Spektrum DX6i. Crashed into the ceiling on the first day (pilot error), and it still can hover on the spot, I am quite surprised by the robustness. It is great for flying in tight spaces as long as there are no drafts.

All in all, fun and good way to get a general feel for flying a model helicopter, the only drawback I can think of is the charger for the battery. It is battery-powered, so you should get some rechargeable AAs for it. Also, due to diminutive size, there is more of a risk of someone walking into it, so watch out for absent-minded neighbors/curious cats/etc.

Have had my bmcx for several months and it is a blast to fly. Your skill improvement is very noticeable with this heli and it is possible to fly without a coach teaching you initially. This device has survived with no functional damage many, many small 3-5 foot crashes whether upright, sideways or inverted. Upper rotor blades got scratched crashing into ceiling (yes, upwards), but everything still works fine. Have not needed to replace any parts yet (knock on wood)

    Highly recommended.

After binding it, transmitter stopped working and helicopter will not respond to controls. Save your money and DON’T buy anything chineese.

I have one of these little guys. First off, some back story.

I had originally purchased a RTF model that had some problems. Contacted E-flite explained the issue to them, and they exchanged my original with a new unit. So thats a plus for the company right there. The unit they sent back was a BNF model.

I use my CX2′s LP5DSM to control my MCX, and its a HUGE improvement over it’s original. If you purchase a MCX, I would suggest using your CX controller if you have one. Binding your MCX to another remote is easy as 1,2,3.

Unit flies very stable, and is VERY impact resistant. I suggest the following for first time heli users. Purchase extra mounting rings (EFLH2226) and a space inner shaft/upper hub (EFLH2212) encase of hard crashes. The inner shaft / hub for these go out of stock a good deal, so if you can pick up an extra. Odds are you’ll need it sooner or later.

Fun to fly, easy to learn on your way to bigger helicopters. However, odds are even after you upgrade this will be your favorite.
